Introduction

About:
This is a simulation of a real pre-employment assessment test. This test consists of 6 diagrammatic reasoning questions with a time limit of 5 minutes.

General Instructions:
You are always able to skip a question and return to it later. Use the navigation bar to see what questions have been left unanswered and to return to them at any time you want.
You may click a question image in order to enlarge it.

Diagrammatic Reasoning Instructions:
In the following questions you will be presented with a sample diagram. The diagram shows how certain inputs are altered by operators. An operator is represented by a symbol (i.e., a heart) and can affect the input in many ways.
In the sample diagram there are one or more input boxes that are processed through one or more operators to result in one or more output boxes.

You are also given a simple question diagram with one input box and one or more small operator boxes with the output box missing. You have to determine how the output will look after being processed.

Please see the example below.

In the above sample diagram we can see that the input box "FLA" is processed through the heart operator and results in the output box "LA." This gives us the indication that the function of the heart operator is to remove the first letter.
Let us see if we can confirm that with the other process. The input "P6K" is processed through the heart operator followed by the square operator. We can see that the first letter of the input is no longer present in the output box. This confirms that the function of the heart operator is to remove the first letter.

So, what is the function of the square operator?
We can see that the number 5 was added to the end of the input. We can safely assume that the function of the square operator is to add the number "5" at the end of the input. However, since we are unable to confirm it with any other processes, it is not 100% certain. The function of the square operator could also be to add any random number at the end of the input; we cannot say for sure – but the answer options will help us here.

Now solve the question diagram below. Which answer option is correct?

A) UPS
B) FUP
C) UP5
D) 6UP

If your answer is answer option C, you are correct.
This is how you solve the questions on this test.

We strongly suggest that you have pen and paper ready for this test. Use your pen to write down your assumed function of the operators.

Note:
After the test is complete, you must answer some questions about yourself before you can view your results and review the test questions. The data we gather on you is used for anonymous research. We will not ask for your e-mail or other contact details.

When you are ready, click "Begin" to start the test.
