Clerical Ability - Data Checking
In a data checking test you are required to find errors in a text, invoice or ledger. Data checking is sometimes referred to as error checking, the type of questions are normally the same.
In data checking/error checking questions you will be presented with two texts/records and you will be required to determine whether they are 100% identical or not. Among other things the discrepancy can be a missing 0, a misspelled word, or a missing comma. Unless explicitly instructed to, do not check whether calculations have been made correctly, this will only waste your time.
You will be working under a time limit and are required to work fast but without sacrificing precision.
Attention to detail and data checking are similar to some extent, but there are significant differences in the two tests. Attention to detail will be focusing on smaller text strings and will have a very demanding time limit. In data checking you will be comparing more data but with a less strict time limit.
Try to compare the two simplified invoices below, are they 100% identical?

No, they are not 100% identical. In the first invoice the last car name on the list is spelled "Camero", in the last it is spelled "Camaro". A subtle difference, but a difference nonetheless.
